What is somatic renewal?

In Somatic Renewal we explore our body-mind-heart relationship with mindful awareness.

Not only does our body hold trauma, but also wisdom.

During a Somatic Renewal session, we can process trauma and unexpressed emotions, while also tuning in to our innate wisdom as it applies to our unique lived experiences.

Somatic work allows us to speak directly to our subconscious with our bodily sensations, movement, visual meditations, and more. Our subconscious is deeply integrated into our physicality, and with intentional practices we can use this to our advantage, gently observing and digesting what lives in our subconscious (body)mind.

Specific emotion and thought patterns may have protected or served us in a past situation, but sometimes our body doesn’t realized we’ve moved on. It holds on to these patterns, anticipating the need to use what we’ve learned from a past environment. But that past isn’t our reality or our truth anymore, and with somatic techniques, we can move on and heal holistically.

What can I expect?

  • Guided Interroception

    With gentle prompting, you will be guided to sit with sensations in your body, allowing their hidden messages and wisdom to emerge.

  • Re-wiring the nervous system

    Together we will discover your habitual emotional patterns and reactions, feel into how they inhabit your body, and use somatic techniques to re-wire these reactions towards a healthy, desirable outcome.

  • Process Unresolved Emotions

    With gentle attentiveness, we allow space to notice where and how emotions are stuck in your unique somatic experience, then use mindful awareness, movement, and imagination to find energetic safety and allow emotions to resolve and release.

  • Strengthen your connection to self

    With intentional awareness you will notice how your emotions, felt-body sensations, and mind are connected. You will build and/or enhance your ability to sense how your body is responding to life, and use somatic techniques to transform this process into ease and flow.
